Port Discovery, Baltimore, MD

Home

Port Discovery is a kid friendly museum in Baltimore for the under 10 set.  We used to be members when our children were younger, they loved this place so much.    We just recently revisited this place with our three year old and he loved it.  We had a hard time tearing him away from each exhibit to move him on to the next.

Kids will especially like the centerpiece of the museum, KidsWorks which is a series of nets and ropes to climb up through the center of Port Discovery.  Be aware that if you have young kids they will probably need your help, so be prepared to climb too.  Even the older kids can exit on a floor different than the one they started, so you’ll probably find yourself crawling after them.

There is no place to buy food, but you can bring in your own cooler.  Rent a locker, and put your lunch inside, and then use the designated eating area to eat.  If you forget, there is a Subway conveniently located just outside to buy your lunch.

Don’t miss Miss Perception’s Mystery House, and Adventure Expeditions – our two favorites.  Even your older kids will enjoy these exhibits.  I would plan to spend at least 3 or 4 hours here, but the kids would probably love to stay all day.  Check ahead of time to see if large schools or camp groups will be visiting so that it isn’t too crowded when you arrive.

Have fun!
